22nd August 2012 is an important day in the history of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam. As Madurai is the Pallandu avatharasthalam and is the place where Sriman Naraynan's parathvam was established beyond an iota of doubt by Azhwar, HH Srimad Andavan has a special place in his heart for Madurai. That is one of the reasons for selecting Madurai for this year's chathurmasyam which extends for 90 days . And that is another reason for constructing an old age home at Madurai very near to the Madurai Ashramam. That site is another beautiful location and is inside a coconut grove as the Madurai Ashramam. The site was donated to the Ashramam by the heirs of sri Vallimedu Raghunathacharyar and to fulfil the desire of the family, HH Srimad Andavan decided to run an old age home in this place.
The old age home is named as " Soudarsanee Vruddashramam" and is to be maintained by "Sri Sowparnee Trust" (affliated to Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam).
Vasthu pooja was performed on the site on 22nd August under the direct kadaaksham of our HH Srimad Andavan. Sri Jagan swamy, Ashrama Aradhakar, has shared some photos taken on the occasion.
