Sreemathe RangaRamanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha
Two major events of
Srirangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam in the current month went through very well.
The
first one was commencement of silver jubilee of (25th year ) of Chaturmasya
Sankalpam of His Holiness Sri RangaRamanuja Mahadesikan.This was on Monday, 22nd
July,2013
The
second event was Mangalaasaasanam of His Holiness at Tiruvenkatamudayan
Sannathi. This was on 23rd July, 2013.
I was
fortunate to attend both the functions along with several hundreds of devotees
assembled in the Hill station of Tirumala.
There
used to be saying that 108 divyadesa Perumals were very much eager to have
paasurams on them from Swamy Nammazhwar and in this age, Sri Tiruvenkatamudayan
was very eager to the same thought , an Yatheeswarar to have His 25th Silver
jubilee of Chaturmasya sankalapam at His abode of Tirumala. There was an earlier
decision to have this years Sankalpam in Bangalore, but due to the will of
Tiruvenkatamudayan, H H bowed to that and came to Tirumala. As the saying goes,
H H is the first Achrayan ( other than Sthala Jeer Swamins ) to perform the
Chaturmasya Vratham at the abode of Lord Srinivasan. H H has arrived Tirumala
after doing Mangalaasaasanam of Thaayaar Sannathi at Tiruchanur and also Sri
Govindaraja Perumal at Tirupathi
This is really major
event in the history of our Ashramam and the devotees greeted with all
enthusiasm and attended to the event in several hundreds, I will say that not
less than thousand. This is reflected in the next day's event also, as more than
thousand devotees paid Rs 300 for TTD tickets, to join H H while
Mangalaasaasanam takes place.
On 22nd Morning, many
of the male members are able to enjoy Jeer Sathumurai at the Temple and then
assemble at Ashramam from 9 AM. Aradanams were over and theertha Prasadams, were
given and Cahatari was administered. All of us missed Sri Krishnamurthy
Aradakar,perhaps he could not make it due to his age and health
conditions.
The Sanlapam function has started in the central hall
of Ashramam complex, with Mrithsankraham, sankalpam was administered by our
Srikaryam's representative, Sri Vaduvoor Govindachar. This followed by
Tirmudivilakkam, which took an hour . During this time, a few Ubhaya Vedantha
Vidwans gave short discourses on the importance of this vratham and that too in
Tirvenkatmudyan Sannathi. Sri Kaniyambakkam Devanathachar started the session,
followed by Sri Vaduvoor Veeraraghavachar, Sri Tirupathi Ranganathachar, Sri
Natteri Rajagopalachariar, Tirupathi Sri Somayaji.
At this silver jubilee event, H H annonced the making
of 4 more Asthana Vidwans. They are Kaniambakkam Sri Devanathachariar, Natteri
Sri Rajagoplachariar, Villoor Sri Karunakaracahariar and Thayaar Sri
Lakshmanachariar

After the Sanklpam , all had sumptuous thadheeyaaraadanam arranged by Ashramam, with house full for
atleast 3 batches.
Let me release this much report now and I will follow
it up with a second report tomorrow. Some photographs have already appeared in
the yahoogroup mail, about Mangalaasaasanam. I have other pictures , which I am
trying to upload separately.
On the whole, both the days functions went off
well.
